Here is a travel blog to guide you through your journey from Cairo to Aswan, exploring some of the most iconic landmarks and breathtaking landscapes along the way.

 

 

Day 1-2: Cairo Your first stop is Cairo, the bustling capital of Egypt. Start your trip by visiting the Great Pyramids of Giza, the only surviving wonder of the ancient world, and the Sphinx. You can also explore the ancient city of Memphis and the Step Pyramid of Djoser in Saqqara.

In Cairo, don’t forget to visit the Egyptian Museum, which houses over 120,000 artifacts from Ancient Egypt, including the treasures of Tutankhamun. You can also explore the Islamic quarter of Cairo, including the Al-Azhar Mosque and the Khan el-Khalili Bazaar.

Day 3-4: Luxor Next, head to Luxor, a city on the east bank of the Nile river, often referred to as the “world’s greatest open-air museum.” Visit the Karnak Temple, the largest ancient religious site in the world, and the Luxor Temple, built by Amenhotep III and completed by Tutankhamun.

Explore the Valley of the Kings, where pharaohs were buried, including the tomb of Tutankhamun. Visit the Hatshepsut Temple, built by the first female pharaoh of Egypt, and the Colossi of Memnon.

Day 5: Kom Ombo Take a day trip to Kom Ombo, a town located on the east bank of the Nile river. Visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the gods Sobek and Horus, and explore the Crocodile Museum.

Day 6-7: Aswan Continue your journey to Aswan, a city in the south of Egypt. Visit the Philae Temple, located on an island in the Nile river, and the Unfinished Obelisk, the largest known ancient obelisk.

Take a boat ride to the Nubian Village and learn about the history and culture of the Nubian people. Don’t forget to visit the Abu Simbel temples, built by Pharaoh Ramses II in the 13th century BC.

Day 8-9: Edfu Take a day trip to Edfu, a town on the west bank of the Nile river. Visit the Temple of Edfu, dedicated to the god Horus, and explore the small town.

Day 10-11: Nile River Cruise End your journey with a Nile river cruise, sailing from Aswan to Luxor. Enjoy the stunning scenery along the Nile river, passing through small towns and villages, and exploring ancient temples and tombs along the way.

On your cruise, you will visit the Temple of Kom Ombo and the Temple of Edfu. You will also have the opportunity to explore the temples and tombs of Luxor, including the Valley of the Kings and the Karnak Temple.
